I love the idea of the "fussy art cat burglar"...it makes it all seem a little less sinister. I'm thrilled for you that you got a second sale out of it....now if all collectors would just insure and recommission, eh?

I've got a ridiculous art theft story.
An interior designer who owns my work, and a rather large collection of art in Asheville lives in a very expensive condo development that got hit by an actual "art cat burglar". They robbed several places of just art, including one of my paintings, which was never recovered. They were fussy. Apparently, they couldn't "move" one piece of sculpture, and actually returned it when they hit the interior designer's place a 2nd time. They were eventually busted. Their apartment was full of stolen art. The fact that they successfully unloaded my piece made me gloat a bit. The designer had me make a copy of the stolen original (her insurance must have come through), so I got another sale. The whole thing sounds like screwy movie.
